SoftMap Technologies Inc. the Quebec- based manufacturer of GIS software and cartographic products on CD-ROM, announces the publication of a DVD version of the complete collection of multimedia titles Québec topo20.

This new product offers a number of topographic maps at a scale of 1:20,000 developed by the Direction générale de l'information géographique and distributed by the Photocartothèque québécoise of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec. Québec topo20 includes a database from DMTI Spatial Inc. with streets and addresses. SoftMap Publishing 2002 Inc. will ensure the distribution of Québec topo20.

The Québec topo20 collection on DVD :
·Official detailed topographic maps of the all administrative regions (more than 2,700 maps);
·Display of streets and addresses of all municipalities over 2,000 population(where available);
·Thousands of points of interest:
hotels, stores, golf clubs, schools, tourist attractions, etc.;
·The map data of Quebec at a scale of 1:8,000,000 and 1:1,000,000, plus the topographic maps of the designated administrative regions at a scale of 1:250,000 and 1:20,000.

SoftMap Pro version 4.6 is included and offers new functions:
·Reading of multiple raster and vectorial formats;
·Includes the tool GeoWriteS to georeference user maps;
·Vector data from Microstation® (DGN) MapInfo® (MIDMIF, TAB) and ArcView® (SHAPE) can be imported directly into layers and ArcView SHP file and MapInfo® can be exported;
·read and write GeoTIFF, a familiar georeferenced format used by USGS and for orthophotos, etc.
·Metadata display of Canadian topographic maps;
·Easy interface to GPS receivers and advanced management of GPS data;
·Vectorial editing with topology;
·Supports direct links with external databases; importation of address databases;
·Address search function active if interfacing with a product with an address database;
·and many other functions.
