Can I transfer a GPS
database to another computer / user and how?
A GPS database is an Access file with an MDB
extension. Here is the default folder for the
creation of databases:
C:\Program Files\SoftMap\SoftMap Plus\Data\GPS.
To transfer the data, you must take the GPS
database from your computer and copy it in the
other computer.
To do that, proceed as follows:
1. Take the database and copy it on a floppy
or burn it on a CD-ROM. If you prefer, you can
send the database by e-mail.
2. Copy the database on the other computer.
You can place it at the same place on the hard
disk, i.e. C:\Program Files\SoftMap\SoftMap
Plus\Data\GPS. (if you have saved it on a CD-ROM,
don't forget to change the attribute from Read
only to Read-Write)
3. On the other computer, open SoftMap.
4. In SoftMap, click on the GPS menu and choose
"Open a GPS database".
5. In the "Open a GPS database" window, browse
the disk until the copied database and open
it.
NOTE: You can have information's about your
GPS databases (name and location) under the
GPS tab of the session window. |
