- SoftMap 5 will be published in January
2006 with a price of 29.95 $.
- SoftMap 5 is the latest generation of
the SoftMap Plus software.
- It includes all the functions of version
4: seamless navigation, printing, search
tools, etc.
- SoftMap 5 installs beside SoftMap 4,
when required, and recovers the existing
SoftMap data on your computer.
- Languages: click to go directly from
English to French in the software.
- Check updates: click in the Help menu
to search for available updates and access
the downloadable files.
- Activate map download: this tool will
enable the display of the maps in the
window as the user navigates: requires
a subscription to TopoWeb and an Internet
connection.
- Internet service : the maps are available
at high and low resolution to adapt to
the speed of the Internet service of the
user.
- The Cache: saves the downloaded maps
on the hard drive for future display of
the same area.
- SoftMap GPS: the module is included
and allows data exchange with Garmin and
Magellan GPS receivers.
- TopoWeb Canada will be published
in January 2006.
This is a subscription to all the topographic
maps of a region at the 1:50,000 scale: all
10 provinces will form 8 regions plus 3 territories.
11 regions will be available gradually from
January to April beginning with Quebec, Ontario,
Alberta and BC in January; each at 19.95 $
per year. Requires SoftMap 5 and an Internet
connection.
- TopoWeb Québec will be published
in February 2006.
This is a subscription to all the topographic
maps of Quebec at the 1:20,000 scale for 29.95 $
per year. Requires SoftMap 5 and an Internet
connection.
- EducaKit SoftMap
EducaKit SoftMap is the result
of a project with the Canadian Space Agency
jointly with the Québec ministère
de l’Éducation, des Loisirs et
du Sport, and with the ministère des
Ressources naturelles et de la Faune. The
EducaKit-teacher contains
tools for teachers to support the integration
of georeferenced data, texts, images in presentations
or practical exercises intended for students,
powered by SoftMap Pro 5 offering an assistant
to help manage the different components. The
EducaKit-student is the complement
for students and offers tools to visualize
the lessons prepared by their teacher and
perform the practical exercises. Powered by
SoftMap 5, EducaKit-student
is equipped with a versatile multimedia tool.
EducaKit SoftMap is a package
including a 3 year free subscription to one
of the two following products : TopoWeb Canada
offering the maps of a region of Canada at
the 1:50,000 scale or TopoWeb Quebec offering
the topographic maps of all of Quebec at the
1:20,000 scale.
