Update from SoftMap 4 to SoftMap 5

How to restore data from version 4?

SoftMap 5

SoftMap 5 is installed independently of versions 4 of the software. Installation of this new SoftMap 5 version will not disturb the data installed on your computer. The version 4 data will be integrated automatically into SoftMap 5 when it is opened for the first time. SoftMap 5 will detect version 4 and ask you if you want to restore the data. This detection occurs only when the software is first opened. If you want to launch the process later, use the Update version 4 data… available in the Help menu. Normally, the restore process should be done only once.

SoftMap Pro 5

SoftMap Pro 5 is installed independently of versions 4 of the software. Installation of this new SoftMap Pro 5 version will not disturb the data installed on your computer. Data from version 4 is integrated into SoftMap Pro 5 in two steps:

  • Restoration of the data installed with SoftMap products: When it is first opened, SoftMap 5 detects version 4 and asks you if you want to restore the data. This detection occurs only when the software is first opened. If you want to launch the process later, use the Update version 4 data… available in the Help menu. Normally, the restore process should be done only once.
  • Restoration of previous sessions: To restore a session created with version 4, go to the File menu and select the option Convert a session from SoftMap 4.
