:: SoftTip

Do it in colour; it’s much nicer!

ABC of layers

When a graphical elementGraphical elements is added in SoftMap 5, it is automatically placed on a layer. SoftMap 5 comes with five layers* on which you can add your personal information. A layer is like a sheet of paper (or an acetate) allowing you to group elements together. Elements are always added to the active layer. There can be only one active layer at a time, the one that appears in bold in the session window.

Layers

Activate a layer

To add an element to a layer, you must first activate the layer. To activate a layer, right click on the layer’s name and select the option Active.

Change color of the lines

Visual aspects of the lines depend on the properties of the layer on which they are. To modify layer properties, right click on the layer’s name and choose Properties. So, if you want lines of different colors, you have to use several layers!

* SoftMap Pro 5 allows creation of new layers.
