SoftMap Pro 5 is a GIS
software (Geographical Information System) powerful,
easy to use and low price. It is the desk-top version
of our SoftMap 5
software, used in our consumer products. It is designed
to be easy to learn, thanks to the user friendly
interface, a multimedia tutorial and navigation
on seamless maps: this characteristic is the trademark
of SoftMap family of software. SoftMap Pro offers
intuitive management of databases and great precision
in all geometric calculations or changes in coordinate
systems. |

| New in SoftMap Pro 5: |

- SoftMap Pro 5 installs
(installation
demo) beside SoftMap version 4, when required,
and restores the existing SoftMap data on your computer:
cartographic references, personal database, SoftMap
databases (place-names, addresses, and metadata),
and GPS databases.
- Languages: click to go directly
from English to French in the software.
- Check updates: click in the Help
menu to search for available updates and access the
download files.
- Activate map download: will enable
the display of the maps in the window as the user
navigates: requires a subscription to TopoWeb and
an Internet connection.
- Download speed: the maps are available
in high or low resolution to allow a selection based
on the download speed of the user.
- The Cache: saves the downloaded
maps on the hard drive for future display of the same
area.
- The installation of SoftMap Pro 5
is completely automatic if you have an active Internet
connection: with your serial number, the software
will receive confirmation from the server and install
the registration key on your computer. The installation
can also be done via fax or e-mail.
- SoftMap Pro 5 replaces
any possible SoftMap Pro version 4 updates: all updates
and upgrades will not be added in version 4.
- As in SoftMap Pro 4, the GPS
tools are included.
- SoftMap Pro 5 can
work off-line: the maps in the Cache are
available off-line as are the maps in your SoftMap
products on CD-ROM or on your hard drive.
